When is the last time you’ve got to give yourself self-care? Do you slow down and take it easy from time to time? Hi, it’s Shinko, and I am passionate about living a natural lifestyle. If you are not sure, permit yourself to take good care of yourself with Lemon essential oil! Today I will show you how to refresh yourself in 11 different ways. Are you worried that you may not remember them all? No problem! Click the link below for recipes.
Before I proceed, here is something for you to keep in mind. Lemon oil is filled with a natural cleansing agent called d-limonene, which is so potent that the oil degrades plastic containers over time! For this reason, keep the oil in glass containers.
Contrary to D-limonene’s effect on plastics, the natural chemical found in Lemon oil rejuvenates and heals skin. For topical application, mix 2 to 4 drops of Lemon oil with 10 ml of vegetable oil. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. If this happens, rinse well with vegetable oil, not with water. Lemon oil can cause photosensitivity; avoid sunlight and UV rays for at least 12 to 48 hours after applying the product.
Are you ready?
Want to snuff out stinky smells? Place a Lemon-infused cotton ball in the fridge, bathroom drawer, or trash can.
Need to boost your focus and energy? Stay on task when working on a big business presentation or a last-minute school project by adding a few drops of Lemon oil to your essential oil diffuser. Or take a drop of Lemon oil and dilute it with eight drops of vegetable oil. Apply the blend to your temples or behind your ears for a much-needed pick-me-up!
Skin Care Superstar:
Radiant-looking skin, anyone? Simply add Lemon oil to your favourite night cream.
Would you like to give yourself a DIY face mask to hydrate your skin? Add one teaspoon coconut oil, one teaspoon honey, plus one drop Lemon oil to a bowl and mix well. Apply and let the mixture sit for 15 minutes before rinsing with warm water – ooh, that sounds yummy!
Do you have acne and acne scars? Try DIY acne cream!
Mix 1 drop of Lemon oil with a small amount of Shea Butter. Apply to a cotton ball and gently dab on the affected area of skin. Leave it on for 2 to 5 minutes. Wash your face with your usual cleanser and follow any other steps of your skincare routine. By the way, the cream is applied best at night. Start slowly with once-daily applications a couple of times a week.
Healthy Hair and Foot Care:
Would you like to kick dandruff to the curb? Combine 2 to 8 drops total of Lemon oil with an equal amount of liquid soap or shampoo to get rid of a dry, flaky scalp.
Are you looking for a natural highlighter? Simply apply Lemon oil on the strands of your hair. By the way, it will lighten dark blond or light brown hair and won’t leave reddish tones unless your hair already has them.
How about foot care? Massage with the mixture of Lemon and vegetable oils to soften and smooth your feet!
Natural Bug Repellant:
If you are an outdoor lover, here is good news! Did you know bugs are not in favour of Lemon oil? For this reason, I make my bug spray with Lemon oil every summer. Why not use commercial bug repellents? Because most repellents are filled with toxic chemicals, which can make us sick. For example, DEET is linked to seizures, heart failures and even death…yikes! If you would like to make your bug spray, please contact me. I will be happy to share my secret recipe with you!
Would you like to boost your immune system and help support a weight-loss regimen? Make your morning smoothie with a drop of Lemon essential oil. Or infuse water with 1-2 drops of Lemon oil to meet your midday slump…your body will thank you for it!
As you can see, with just a bottle of Lemon oil, you can easily give yourself self-care from head to toe. Have you got other recipes with Lemon oil? Please share with me the details!
